HALO Troop Truck Concept 3

One of the unsung heroes of the HALO WARS I call it the "Rhino". Built from the desighn of a UNSC Gremlin set only made wider and the EMP cannon replaced with a bed with benches along the sides for the troops to sit.

This particular unit doubles as a small command post, of sorts with all the radio and communications equipment in the cab.

and of course a 50cal machine gun mounted in a crows nest on the right side for defense against aircraft and light ground vehicles.

Instead of soldiers this Rhino bares the bulky weapons cases carrying the latest in UNSC small arms and artillery to the front.

It's ungainly no frills appearance and the fact that it was built on the same frame as the Gremlin has prompted the Marines to adopt more colorful names for it. Only a few however can be mentioned here, such as Mule, Jackass, or simply ass which is usually preceded by a less flattering connotation. Many refer to it as the Ogre since it to is a mythical being like the Gremlin. This particular unit was pet named Shrek by it's operator.

"It just fit because like the movie character this lumbering beast is more then what he seems." the operator who not only is driver but a communications specialists remarked with a knowing wink.
