In order to escape his own removal from history due to his efforts to prevent the future thatc reated him, in the TV Movie "Ego Trip" [link] he travels to a parallel dimension, after helping his other counterparts build a small army of robots to destroy his siter, the one who saved the future therbye threatening to nullify his existance as well as stealing the credit the dexters felt they deserved.

He makes the journey only to find that the world he has entered to is under attack by an evil intellectual despot who uses his knowlege of robotics to conqure and inslave the Mobian inhabitants. at first he is not even sure he has come to an alternate earth and wonders if this Mobious is indeed another planet with inteligent furry human hybrids inhabiting as the dominant species.

However through simple astronomy he is able to confirm the identity of the new earth. What is more horrifying then the existance of these Mobians who hate distrust humans is the fact that HE himself is the source of there prejudice. Dr Ivo Robotnic he learns is actually Julian Kintobor, his distant decendant. dexter had not only traveled through space but time as well and his counterpart's ancestor was the greatest threat ever faced.

But the once loan warrior of the waist land was no longer alone in his fight. He joined up with Sally's Freedom Fighters after saving her life during an attempted invasion of the great forest. The FF accepted him reluctantly, though Sally was greatful for his assitance but deep in her heart she just could not forget what Robotnic and the overlanders had done to her people and her family, having lost her mother and brother in the previous war and now her father.

Dexter found friends and comrades among Billie and her Texas Rangers but Sadly he would die tragically in battle before the Knothole refugees would accept him fully as an ally and a true friend to the resistance.

It was this decision that allowed her to welcome the humans Nate Morgan and Hope Kintobor with open arms and an open heart
